Two Becoming Three

Back in November of 2020, I offered "Christmas Tree Minis" out in Washington, ME. Victoria wrote me to book one of the time slots. When she and her husband, Joel, showed to the session, they brought a Reny's bag filled with things. She told me she "brought a couple things for a photo idea." I was down.

I captured these adorable photos during the session. I've always felt and believed that everyone has someone out there in the world and one day you will come across them. I strongly believe these two are the dictionary definition of soulmates. You can see it in their eyes when they're looking at each other and the love radiates. They are two of the most deserving, kind hearted, and loving people I know. They have the kind of love everyone deserves to have in their lifetime.

During the session, I was very intrigued as to what she had in her Reny's bag. In our last five minutes, I said to her, "Why don't you grab it?"

And this is what she pulled out.

I instantly started tearing up and shaking, repeating over and over, "Are you serious right now?!" I struggled to continue to take photos due to my shaking out of excitement for them! Just earlier in the year, the pair experienced a miscarriage, and now they are going to have their rainbow baby!

You can only imagine how excited I was when she asked me to take her maternity photos (I'm almost certain I cried, then, too). I started looking at ideas and different poses online, as well as other photographers images online right away to make sure I was ready for some exceptional shots. We decided on the Owls Head State Park/Light House, Victoria sent me the dress she ordered so I could get even better ideas, and we went from there!

I don't think I have ever been more nervous for a session before. I've done plenty of maternity shoots and portraits, but knowing Joel is a photographer and how amazing of people they are. They were so incredibly patient with me while I got myself into the swing of things, even giving ideas and pointing out perfect spots.

I couldn't wait to upload the photos! This is probably my all-time favorite session, I am so proud of how they came out! Take a peak for yourself...

I can not wait for Baby Foust to make their arrival next month (July 2021)! And I can't thank Victoria and Joel enough for reaching out for photos. Hopefully soon I'll be able to add some adorable newborn and family pictures as well.
